JOSEPH SWIDENBANK

A band or a solo artist?

Joseph Swidenbank is a band from Bedford in the South of England, which takes its name from lead singer, songwriter and frontman Joe Swidenbank

The band members:

Brothers Joe and Ben Swidenbank, along with lead guitarist Bud and drummer Pete. Joe and Ben come from a musical family, and both occasionally play in an Irish folk rock band, Grafton Street, with their dad!

Song-writing:

Joe writes the songs and they are an originals band, although they did release a cover of Joe Jackson's "It's Different For Girls"  (video below).

Joe writes from the heart and his lyrics are very personal and often deeply emotional, even some of his rockiest songs have a heartbreak meaning behind them.

Genre and Influences:

They are a cross over band encompassing different levels of rock and pop, and Joe's songs range from soft emotional ballads through to pounding heavy rock

Joe is very influenced by Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters are his favourite band.

Band Members:

Joseph Swidenbank  Songwriter, Lead Vocals, Guitar

Ben Swidenbank       Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals

Bud Rogers              Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals

Peter Hancock          Drums, Backing Vocals

Extracts from reviews:

Talking of conventionality (we were, weren't we?), how about a rock band from Bedford, England that values things like melody and musical competence? A band like Joseph Swidenbank - that's the name of the band and not just that of the singer - for example. After listening to one too many indie rock young bucks lately, I'd begun to wonder if anyone used a guitar to make anything other than three chords of very loud noise. Certainly there's no shortage of riffs here and there's plenty of weight behind them too    (by Bluesbunny)

So maybe here’s a first, a band that takes its name from the singer songwriter who fronts it. This band is the best of eighties rock revisited, from Punk to big Rock Ballads, from blues to rock instrumental music, this album really does deliver! (by Andrew Smith – New Music Reviews)

Joseph Swidenbank  are every girls dream - cute boys that play beautiful, melodic rock music. This album is crammed with songs that will melt the hearts of even the harshest of critics. The vocals are to die for.  (by Samantha Whitham)
